The second edition of the Angel Investment Day proved that HUNBAN has created a sustainable event format. The inaugural meetup last year had been a great success with a truly memorable keynote speech by Hansi Hansmann.

This year’s event on the 29th May held at Akvárium Club again received great feedback from the audience. In spite of the pouring rain, 130+ investors and entrepreneurs showed up and listened to the stories shared by the two Superangels, Peter Cowley from the UK (EBAN President, Best Angel of the World 2017) and Péter Balogh (Hungarian Shark, founder of Baconsult). Antal Károlyi (Hunban President) had an interesting fireside chat with Peter Cowley and Réti Virág (Co-founder and CEO of Cabsolutely) interviewed Péter Balogh. All the participants confirmed the necessity being active as an angel in order to ensure the support of the team. Supporting via knowledge end experience are common challenges either in the UK or the Hungarian market.

After the first coffee break, Tamás Simon (Managing Director of Qualysoft) and Lénárd Horgos (Hunban member, Founding partner of Absolvo Consulting) talked about the specialities of the German market, the largest one in Europe to promote the business development of startups. It clearly seems that you must speak German if you enter the German market and starting from Austria means a little bit easier way to enter this market.  Then Endre Wagner moderated the conversation with Andreas Kemi (Chairman of the Board in Tresorit) and Kimmo Irpola (Hunban Member, Partner in Trind VC) on successful exits. Exits are coming through different channels and the best advice is to be aware of it at all times.

As the last agenda point of the official program, five promising Central-European startups held their pitches. Sineko from Austria showed how the radiology reporting can be revolutionized using Artificial Intelligence. The brave girl, Volom Sári presented the online platform the Photon is creating to connect clients and photographers. Then she hid again behind her camera and continued shooting her catchy photos on the event. Regnos, from Czech Republic showed the solutions they can provide to corporates to automate complex processes. Chameleon talked about how they can wire houses to build a smart home and Morpho Pix convinced the audience that Virtual Reality might have an important role also in the industrial usage. Chameleon and Morpho set up a demo wall in the networking area where people could try out what the startaps had been talking about. After queueing up, of course.

The day which was part of the closure event of Accelerator program ended up with networking when hopefully great deals were made.
